How to Join Competitive Rust Scrims

Start with one public identity that connects the website, Discord and the Rust hubs. Once the setup gates are complete, you can join a roster, build a party and compete.

Link the required accounts

Sign in with Steam, complete the Discord join flow and choose a unique public CSL username. Your private platform identifiers are not used as your public profile name.

Accept the regulations

Every player accepts the current rules before using competition features. Read them before joining a roster: they cover eligibility, conduct, evidence and match disputes.

Join or create a clan

Official rosters support up to 25 members. Founders and scrim leaders organize the side that enters a queue or tournament.

Prepare for the hub

Complete any required playtime and anti-cheat checks before match day. The queue cannot fix an eligibility issue after an opponent has already been found.

Connect to the hub

Open Rust, press F1 and enter client.connect hub.8v8.gg. EU and NA use this same proxy address.

Choose EU or NA

In the lobby, use CONNECT TO EU SERVER or CONNECT TO NA SERVER to switch regions. For a scheduled match, follow the host region shown on its match page.

Join Ranked in-game

Use the RANKED row to select 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and press QUEUE. You can select several sizes. For team sizes, your Rust party leader queues the group; enable AUTO-FILL if your party needs more players. Stay connected: the hub confirms readiness automatically.

Choose your filters

VERIFIED picks between two queues. Only verified players can turn it on, and for them it starts on. With it on you play Ranked: rated matches in which every player, you included, has a CSL username, accepted rules and 1,000+ Rust hours or a staff playtime exemption. With it off you play unranked: anyone can join at every size, there is no hours requirement, and matches do not change your rating. GLOBAL allows matches with the other region when every party has it on; turn it off to search only your region.
